Telecollaboration a hit at GTEC 2010

Attendees at GTEC 2010 (Canada's government technology event) were looking to learn how information technology can best serve the public as well as the people in their own organizations. At the show, they were treated to a demonstration of how Magor TeleCollaboration helps government organizations bring teams together, enhance collaboration, improve productivity and reach organizational goals. Response from the attendees was overwhelmingly positive, and Magor is looking forward to working with a number of government organizations to bring the power of telecollaboration to their offices and to the people they serve.

Telecollaboration scores highest on Frost & Sullivan's new Velocity of Collaboration metric

Frost & Sullivan, a leading industry research and growth consulting firm, recently announced a new metric to help enterprises as they seek to deploy collaboration tools. Called The Velocity of Collaboration, this new metric looks beyond the more obvious ROI calculations a company may make before investing collaboration tools, such as the cost of operating the solution against savings derived from travel avoidance, and evaluates solutions based on their effectiveness and usability.

"To help create a truer picture of the value derived from the use of collaboration, companies should consider a range of factors, such as the availability of the solution to a worker needing it 'at any given time'or how well a particular solution meets the collaboration needs of a team," advised Brian Cotton, Vice President of Frost & Sullivan's Information & Communication Technologies consulting practice.

Telecollaboration scored the highest when compared to other standard collaboration solutions such as telepresence, video conferencing, audio conferencing and web conferencing. According to the study, telecollaboration stood out for its ease and speed of access as well as its richness in the core capabilities it delivers.
